I Would Rather

I Would Rather

Sometimes this seems a preferable alternative to the bullshit that goes on, though of course it would be self-defeating. For someone as visually-stimulated as myself, this would be ghastly, though sometimes I would rather…

What has me agitated:

Blaming Video Games for Violence

Faith-based regulations passing

Lack of food-safety standards in China snuffing pets

Seeking a positive side… it spawned a painting.

See it larger in the Gallery and nab some Icons of it.

All Suffering Soon to End!

All Suffering Soon to End!Sorry, moose, you’re fucked because the Jebus says you have no soul! :B Fuck that, profusely.

Anyhow, as always, thoroughly entertained with the patronizing art featured on religious propaganda. For example, these people can’t wait to die, yippie!

James Inman Hates White People & Old Testament Law

I love the points he makes on the absurdity, the absolute foolishness, of Old Testament mandates. >;)

Van Gogh Slideshow

Van Gogh's tortured eyes, from an 1889 self-portrait

Not one of my personal favorites, but there’s no denying his talent, the misunderstood Vincent Van Gogh fancied himself a realistic painter, rather than the expressionistic one he was labeled as due to his complementary colors and pronounced strokes.

Though “tragically brought down by incomprehension and madness, Van Gogh himself aspired to serenity and happiness.” It eluded him. He snuffed himself at 37, suffering from the seizure disorder and hallucinations, exacerbated by alcohol and probably syphilis as well.”

Of further fascination to me, is the fact that if people were eventually “scanned” for perceived mental illness, we wouldn’t have work like his. The line between madness and creativity is hardly there - afflicting not just artists, but scientists, raising the question:

Do the mad have access to hidden worlds of imagination, denied to the sane? Is madness the final frontier of art and science? Is genius only a step away from insanity?

Adult Swim

No, this is not in reference to the Mooninite hubbub. What I want to know is who these two are indulging in order to continue flinging their crap onto our TV screens?!

Tom Goes to the Mayor is the worst and I assume it’s on hiatus for a reason. Now we must face their hideous visages without the crappy Photoshop filter effects on their latest turd, premiering on Adult Swim next weekend?!

Sometimes it’s insulting, what execs think we will watch. 12oz Mouse, Squidbillies and other sucky shows littering the line-up, you are included in the mediocrity that sends me running to other channels, sitcom reruns even!

Pardon Her.

Jailed as a Witch and Branded a SpyTaunted as “witch spawn” on the playground, the 72-year-old granddaughter of Helen Duncan seeks an official pardon for her grandmother, Britain’s last convicted witch.

She was jailed for 9 months as a threat to National Security because officials feared the medium would leak information on their D-Day plans.

She disclosed — allegedly through contacts in the spirit world — the sinking of two British warships long before the news was officially made public.

She also told the parents of a missing sailor that his ship, HMS Barham, had sunk. That was true, but to preserve morale, the sinking was not announced.

She should absolutely be pardoned, for no crime was ever committed.
